Abstract

Process for preparing di-n-propyl acetamide of the formula: ##STR1## whereby di-n-propyl acetonitrile is hydrolyzed by means of 80% sulphuric acid aqueous solution in the proportion of 2 to 2.5 g of dilute acid/g of nitrile, at a temperature between 80.degree. C and 130.degree. C to obtain the desired amide.
