Abstract

Unsaturated carbamoyloxy carboxylates having low color are produced by reacting hydroxyalkyl carbamates such as N-methyl 2-hydroxyethyl carbamate with acrylic or methacrylic acid in contact with a lower alkoxy substituted phenolic or alkylated alkoxyphenolic polymerization inhibitor at a critical low reaction temperature of 40.degree. C. to 80.degree. C. Novel unsaturated carbamoyloxy carboxylates are also disclosed.
