Abstract
Bis-benzoxazolyl compounds of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 independently of one another denote hydrogen, halogen, optionally substituted C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 -alkyl, optionally substituted C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkoxy, aralkyl, aryl, carboxyl, cyano, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkoxycarbonyl, carboxamide which is optionally substituted by C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl, aryl or aralkyl, or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkylsulphonyl, or 2 adjacent radicals R.sub.1 -R.sub.4 represent a fused, optionally substituted aromatic or hydroaromatic ring, are suitable for the brightening of plastics and of polyester fibres.
