Abstract
To measure simultaneously the outer diameter of sets of profiled wheels which are formed by a turning operation and therefore provided with circumferentially extending grooves, an apparatus is provided having a pair of metering wheels which have respective cylindrical circumferential faces of nominally identical diameter and width. The width of each face is bisected by a plane intersecting the plane that encompasses the diameter to be measured, on a line tangent to this diameter. The metering wheels are mounted for rotation about axes of rotation which extend parallel to the enveloping line in the plane to be measured.
