Abstract

In emulsion polymerizations the improvement of using a mixture of phosphate esters of the formula (RO).sub.2 PO(OH) and (RO)PO(OH).sub.2, where RO is an alkoxy radical of an unsaturated polymerizable alcohol of 2 to 12 carbon atoms, or of A-B which is derived from A and B where A is an acid radical of an unsaturated polymerizable carboxylic acid of 3 to 25 carbon atoms and B is a radical of a divalent alcohol, in an amount of between 0.1, and 15% by weight based on the total weight of polymerizable compounds.
