Abstract

The present invention is directed to a sealing unit for an autoclave for sterilizing contents packaged in pouches and sealing the latter, the sealing unit including a plurality of relatively movable pressure bars which are moved through a lost linkage connection such that open mouthed pouches which are held between opposing pairs of jaws by pairs of clips are first subjected to a sterilization media and thereafter are heat sealed closed.
