Abstract

In an electronic musical instrument of the class wherein the amplitude samples of a tone at successive sampling points of musical tone waveform are calculated by independently calculating respective partials that constitute the musical tone waveform and then adding the calculated partial samples, there are provided a 'variable' generating circuit which generates a variable which varies with time, and a 'variable' modifying circuit which modifies the variable with a coefficient corresponding to each partial thereby independently modifying the normal frequency of each one of the correponding partials in accordance with the output from the variable modulating circuit.
