Abstract

An electrolyte for electrolytic capacitors comprising N-ethylformamide or its mixture with any other solvent containing at least about 10% by weight of N-ethylformamide and an acid salt of maleic acid with ammonia or an amine. The electrolyte can be used in electrolytic capacitors designed to operate in a temperature range of about -65.degree. to 100.degree. C.
