Abstract

Method of controlling a variable in response to an error signal by comparing a signal correlated to and substantially proportional to the controlled variable with a reference signal corresponding to a set point value of the controlled variable. The reference signal varies substantially linearly with time until it reaches or at least closely approaches a limiting value which corresponds to the set point value of the controlled variable.
