Abstract

A pharmaceutical composition for prevention and treatment of gastritis and peptic ulcer of mammals including human beings which contains a bis(benzamido)benzene derivative represented by the formula ##STR1## wherein X and Y are as defined hereinbelow, or an acid addition salt thereof, as an active ingredient, and a method of the use thereof are disclosed.
