Abstract
To facilitate transferring a massive boom assembly from a regular crane carrier vehicle to an independent transport trailer, retractable pivot pins and power means to actuate the same are provided on the boom support frame of the crane turntable. The pivot pins, when in their active positions, project through main journals on the crane boom suspension structure. Safety locking elements prevent accidental retraction of the pivot pins during normal operation of the boom on the regular carrier vehicle.
