Abstract

Combating viral infections in vertebrate animals by administering to the animals an amine selected from those having the formulae: ##STR1## and the non-toxic acid addition salts thereof wherein R.sub.1 is selected from the group consisting of alkyl of from 1 to 20 carbon atoms, aralkyl, aryloxyalkyl, hydroxyalkyl of from 2 to 8 carbon atoms and ##STR2## R.sub.2 is selected from the group consisting of alkyl of from 12 to 20 carbon atoms, aralkyl and aryloxyalkyl of from 12 to 24 carbon atoms and ##STR3## R.sup.o is alkoxy of from 1 to 18 carbon atoms; EACH OF R' and R' is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl, alkoxy of from 1 to 18 carbon atoms; R' and R' when taken together are methylenedioxy;
