Abstract

Liquid dispersions of the higher (C.sub.22-70) aliphatic ketones and higher (C.sub.22-70) aliphatic secondary alcohols are effective antifoaming agents when they are of fine particle size. The particle size should be at least sufficiently small that the dispersion does not substantially separate under normal storage conditions. The dispersed phase can be water or an organic liquid in which the dispersed phase is substantially insoluble. The dispersions are effective anti-foam agents for most industrial purposes, and are suitable for use in oil and latex paints.
