Abstract
Thioglycols are prepared by reacting alkylene carbonates with hydrogen sulfide at 50.degree. - 250.degree. C in an inert solvent in the presence of a carbonate or bicarbonate of alkali or alkaline earth metal as catalyst for the reaction.
