Abstract

Pyridinium derivatives having the formula: ##STR1## in which X is O or S; R is benzoyl optionally substituted with at least halogen or lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, hydroxy or nitro; R.sub.1 is hydrogen, halogen, hydroxy or lower alkyl, R.sub.2 is hydrogen or halogen and n is from 1 to 2, and in which R.sub.1 may be different in each CHR.sub.1 when n is 2. Said derivatives are therapeutically useful for their anti-arrhythmic activity.
