Abstract

A series of socket assemblies is fabricated of a single strip of flexible material having socket interconnection necks enabling selective separation of adjacent socket assemblies. Each assembly includes a plurality of component-lead receiving sockets in an appropriate configuration inserted into holes in the flexible strip to be insertable into corresponding holes of a printed circuit board. The assembly also has partially formed holes to ride upon the printed circuit board to provide a socket standoff thereform. The socket assemblies are insertable as a unit, or individually, as desired, and allow reduction in the manufacturing tolerances of the positional and axial alignment of the socket receiving holes of the printed circuit board.
