Abstract
New mixed hydroxymethyl-hydroxyalkyl isocyanurates are produced. Each hydroxyalkyl group in the mixed isocyanurates may contain between two and twelve carbon atoms. These mixed hydroxymethyl-hydroxy (C.sub.2 -C.sub.12 alkyl) isocyanurates are produced by reacting cyanuric acid with (1) a hydroxymethylating agent and (2) a hydroxyalkylating agent. The order of these two reactions may be varied.
