Abstract

A process is provided for preparing an N,N-dialkyl aromatic amine by reacting an aromatic amine of the formula ##STR1## wherein R is a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group with a lower alcohol in the presence of at least one catalyst selected from sulfuric acid and compounds being capable of forming sulfuric acid during the reaction.
