Abstract
Symmetric azo-bis-mercapto compounds of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are methyl or ethyl, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are the same or different alkylene having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and n is 0 or 1, and a method for forming block copolymers of vinyl monomers in a two-step process employing such compounds as polymerization initiators.
