Abstract
A filter for tobacco smoke employs synthetic, inorganic, water-insoluble, anhydrous fibers having a positive zeta potential at the pH of tobacco smoke. To increase the effectiveness of the filter, the tobacco associated with the filter has mixed therewith and deposited thereon particles of a water-insoluble, hydrophobic, moisture-laden, negative charge-imparting substance.
