New emulsion polymers comprising vinyl acetate-acrylate or methacrylate emulsion polymer containing in the polymer an .alpha.,.beta.-ethylenically unsaturated acid ester of a polyol. For example, pentaerythritol tri- and tetra-acrylate, trimethylolpropane triacrylate, hexanediol diacrylate, etc.
