Abstract

Novel N-substituted amino acid derivatives of the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is an alkenyl group having 2 to 5 carbon atoms, a halogen-substituted alkenyl group having 2 to 5 carbon atoms or an alkynyl group having 2 to 5 carbon atoms, R.sub.2 is a methyl or ##STR2## group in which R.sub.2 ' is an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms or a halogen-substituted alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms; and R.sub.3 is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, cycloalkyl having 3 to 6 carbon atoms, benzyl, hydroxyethyl or methoxyethyl group, and inorganic or organic acid addition salts thereof, which possess useful soil fungicidal activities and can be produced by reacting a sarcosine derivative of the formula:
