Abstract
Described is the production of chlorofluorocarbons, particularly trichlorofluoromethane, by reaction between chlorocarbons, e.g., carbon tetrachloride, and ammonium bifluoride at around 300.degree.-550.degree. C in the presence of certain catalysts, e.g., an alkaline earth metal fluoride or ferric fluoride, calcium fluoride being preferred.
