Abstract

1-(N-isopropyl-N,N-dimethylamino)-3-(1-naphthoxy)propan-2-ol quaternary salts are useful cardiovascular agents as evidenced by their potent and long-acting anti-arrhythmic, anti-fibrillatory and myocardial ischemia-inhibitory activity. They, furthermore, lack the undesirable side-effects, e.g. .beta.-adrenergic receptor blocking and local anesthetic activity, characteristic of related prior art compounds.
