Abstract
Method of coloring an organic material with the naphthacenequinone derivative having the formula: ##STR1## wherein X is --OH, --NH.sub.2, --NHR' wherein R' is lower alkyl or aryl group, Y is --H, --Cl, --OH, --OR'' --SR'', --NH.sub.2, --NHR'', methyl, cyclohexyl or benzyl group wherein R'' is aryl or alkyl which may be substituted with lower alkoxy or lower alkylthio group, R and R' is --H, --Cl, --CH.sub.3, --OCH.sub.3, phenyl group or may together form a benzene ring. Colored organic materials with the compound exhibit brilliant nuance with characteristic fluorescence.
