Abstract

The invention relates to a cobalt-platinum catalyst for promoting the addition of .tbd.Si-H compounds to unsaturated organic compounds which comprises reacting platinum dichloride with dicobalt octacarbonyl in the presence of an inert solvent at a temperature up to about 52.degree. C.
