Abstract

New 21-esters of corticoid steroid hormones, the esters having an antitumor activity, are prepared by reacting a reactive derivative of the general formula ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 can be hydrogen, lower alkyl, halogen, or lower alkoxy, X can be oxygen, sulphur, or a monovalent carbon-to-carbon bond, A can be alkylene, aminoalkylene, or lower-alkanoyl aminoalkylene, and A together with X also can be a monovalent carbon-to-carbon bond, with a corticoid steroid.
