Abstract

Reaction of (1-methyl-2-vinyl)4,6-heptadiene-1-ol with butadiene and carbon monoxide in the presence of a catalyst comprising palladium compounds and phosphine compounds provides a novel substance of (1-methyl-2-vinyl)4,6-heptadienyl-3,8-nonadienoate. This product can be made into a polymer at temperatures of 100.degree. to 250.degree. C.
