Abstract

An improved method for developing an exposed silver halide color photosensitive material is disclosed which comprises conducting the development in the presence of a cyan coupler. The coupler has, in the active position thereof, the following split-off group: ##STR1## WHEREIN R.sub.1 is an aliphatic hydrocarbon residue, an aromatic hydrocarbon residue, or a heterocyclic ring residue; R.sub.2 is an aliphatic hydrocarbon residue or an aromatic hydrocarbon residue; l is an integer of 0 to 4 inclusive.
