Abstract

Compounds are provided which have the formula: ##STR1## WHERE Ar.sup.1 and Ar.sup.2 are aromatic radicals and X and Y are 1 to 2 nitrogen atoms and conversely 3 to 2 carbon atoms which may have selected substitutes. Preferably, 2 adjacent carbon atoms (usually the 2 Y's) have a butadienyl or a substituted butadienyl attached thereto. The compounds are useful as dyes.
