A sabot stripper for stripping a sabot within its confines without rotatil forces or mechanical contact, having a gas restricting chamber of a uniform diameter greater than the bore diameter of a weapon, connected to the bore of the weapon by a transition chamber of increasing cross-sectional diameter from the bore to the gas restricting chamber.
