Abstract

A non-flammable rug cleaning composition utilizing flammable hydrocarbons as a propellant is obtained by the incorporation of at least 0.3 by weight of lauryl alcohol into the composition which includes from 0.5 to 5% by weight of CH.sub.3 (CH.sub.2).sub.10 CH.sub.2 OSO.sub.3 M where M is a positively charged cation.
