Abstract

This invention relates to new chemical compounds useful as drugs, as well as to pharmaceutical compositions containing the same. This application claims their hypocholesterolemic use. The new products are aromatic keto acid compounds with antiinflammatory as well as analgetic and hypocholesteremic acitvity and having the general formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is hydrogen, halogen, phenyl, halophenyl, alkyl, phenoxy, or substituted phenoxy.
