Abstract
This disclosure describes 5 new antibacterial agents designated BM123.alpha., BM123.beta. .sub.1, BM123.beta..sub.2, BM123.gamma..sub.1, and BM123.gamma..sub.2 produced in a microbiological fermentation under controlled conditions using a new strain of an undetermined species of Nocardia and mutants thereof. The new antibacterial agents are active against a variety of microorganisms and thus are useful in inhibiting the growth of such bacteria wherever they may be found.
