Abstract

Highly durable flame-retardant thermoplastic polymer compositions contain thermoplastic polymer consisting of an ethylenically unsaturated monomer and from 0.1 to 20%, based on the weight of the thermoplastic polymer, of specific brominated alkoxydiphenyl sulfone derivative of the formula: ##STR1## WHEREIN A is a member selected from the group consisting of a hydrogen atom and allyl, propyl and 2,3-dihalogenopropyl groups, and X.sub.1, X.sub.2, X.sub.3 and X.sub.4 are members selected from the group consisting of chlorine and bromine atoms with at least two of them being bromine atoms.
