Abstract
New perfluoroalkylalkylcarboxylic acids of the formula ##EQU1## are provided, wherein R.sub.f is an unbranched or branched perfluoroalkyl radical with 3 to 18 carbon atoms, R.sub.1 is hydrogen or fluorine and m is a whole number from 1 to 3. The new compounds are suitable for producing water and oil-repellent finishes, soil-release and antisoiling effects on porous and non-porous substrates. They are further valuable intermediates for the manufacture of fluorinated compounds which may be used in the same field as the inventive compounds.
