Abstract
A photographic silver halide emulsion containing at least one dinuclear merocyanine sensitizing dye, and at least one compound represented by the following formula: ##STR1## wherein D represents a divalent aromatic group, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4, and R.sub.5 each represents a hydrogen atom, a hydroxyl group, an alkoxyl group, an aryloxy group, a halogen atom, a heterocyclic group, a mercapto group, an alkylthio group, an arylthio group, a heterocyclic thio group, an amino group, an alkylamino group, a cycloalkylamino group, an arylamino group, a heterocyclic amino group, an aralkylamino group, or an aryl group.
