Abstract

A coating composition of tar-epoxy resin or tar-polyurethane resin which comprises using as the tar component, cresol tar (i.e. the distillation residue having a boiling point of not lower than 200.degree. C in the preparation of cresols using cymene), the composition being useful as a water repellent or a corrosion inhibitor.
