Abstract

A process is disclosed for sequestering metal ions by treating said ions with a compound of the formula: ##EQU1## wherein R' is selected from the group consisting of .sup.-OH, alkyloxy and aryloxy; and R is selected from the group consisting of ##EQU2## wherein Z is .sup.-OH, alkyl, aryl, alkoxy and aryloxy.
