Abstract

A gas stream containing carbon monoxide and hydrogen is methanated by pasg the gas stream upwardly through a suspension of a finely divided hydrogenation catalyst in a fluidizing medium. The reaction takes place at a temperature of from 450 to 950.degree. F.
