Abstract
A dye developer represented by the following general formula (I): ##EQU1## WHEREIN X represents the atoms necessary for completing a monocyclic or polycyclic aromatic group; Y represents an acyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms; Ar and Z each represents a monocyclic polycyclic aromatic group, with Ar being connected either directly or through a divalent atom or group to a polyhydric phenol moiety having a silver halide developing action; R represents an alkyl group or an alkoxy group; n represents an integer of 0 to 4; and Q represents ##EQU2## wherein Z' represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 each represents a hydrogen atom or an aliphatic group, or R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 can combine to form a divalent aliphatic group and a light-sensitive material comprising a support having thereon a light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer with the dye developer of this invention associated therewith.
