Fungicidal composition and method utilizing, as the active ingredient, imides of the formula ##EQU1## wherein Z represents hydrogen or methyl, X represents oxygen, sulphur or the group NR.sub.3, in which R.sub.3 represents hydrogen or methyl, R.sub.1 represents hydrogen, chlorine, bromine or trifluoromethyl, and R.sub.2 represents hydrogen, halogen, methyl or trifluoromethyl.
