Abstract

This invention relates to 2,6-bis-[N-(.alpha.-benzoylthiopropionyl)glycyloxymethyl]pyridine having the formula: ##EQU1## This compound possesses a protecting activity, particularly at the level of the liver, against lesions induced by toxic or infectious agents and, generally, against agents which induce hepatic and circulatory disorders and also against atherosclerotic or inflammatory lesions.
