Abstract

New compounds are disclosed of the formula: ##EQU1## wherein R' is selected from the group consisting of phenyl, lower alkenyl and halogen substituted and unsubstituted lower alkyl of 1-6 carbon atoms, y is an integer from 1-2 provided that when y is 1, R is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, lower alkyl of 2-8 carbon atoms, benzyl, dialkylphosphonoalkyl and phenoxymethylene and when y is 2, R is lower alkylene of 1-4 carbon atoms. The compounds of the invention are useful as flame retardant agents for textile materials and in the production of polymers and copolymers which possess flame retardant properties.
