Abstract

Novel sym.-triazines having the formula: ##EQU1## wherein R.sup.1 is a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl, cycloalkylalkyl, aralkyl or heterocyclic alkyl group; R.sup.2 is a hydrogen atom or a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl, cycloalkylalkyl, aryl, aralkyl or heterocyclic alkyl group; and Z.sup.1 and Z.sup.2, which may be the same or different, each represents oxygen or sulfur, have a central nerve inhibitory activity, an anti-inflammatory activity, an analgesic activity and a sedative activity, and can be prepared by reacting a 2,4-dichloro-6-substituted sym.-triazine with a compound having the formula HO--R.sup.2 in which R.sup.2 is the same as defined above.
