Abstract

Disclosed is a method of duplicating and imaged master comprised of a marking material distributed in an imagewise manner upon a substrate. The method involves contacting the master with a highly viscoelastic inking composition comprising: A. a silicon containing block copolymer having polymeric silicone segments and polymeric segments of a material which is adhesive to the material comprising the image; B. a coloring agent; and C. a solvent in which the copolymer is soluble but which is a non-solvent for the marking material. The inked master is then contacted under pressure with a transfer member to thereby transfer the ink to the transfer member in imagewise configuration.
