Abstract
Tetrahydro-1,3-thiazinium salts of the formula ##EQU1## where X is an anion, R.sup.2 is hydrogen or hydroxyl, and R and R.sup.1 are alkyl, hydroxyl substituted alkyl, or a heterocyclic ring, are prepared by reacting a secondary amine with formaldehyde and a 3-halopropanethiol. The salts are useful as pesticides and as sensitizers for photographic silver halide emulsions.
