Abstract

The present invention relates to new bis-hydroxyphenyl-alkanes of the formula I ##SPC1## wherein one of the radicals X.sub.1 to X.sub.4 represents halogen and the others represent hydrogen, halogen, or alkyl, process for their manufacture, agents which contain these new compounds, and to the use of the new compounds for combating microorganisms and for material protection.
