Abstract

An aircraft hydraulic fluid comprising (1) a base stock material, and (2) a low molecular weight polyester additive consisting of C.sub.2 -C.sub.18 dicarboxylic acid and a C.sub.2 -C.sub.18 diol. By incorporating about 1 to about 20 percent by weight of said additive in said hydraulic fluid, an essentially shear stable hydraulic fluid results.
