Abstract

.gamma., .delta.-Unsaturated carbonyl compounds are prepared by reacting a tertiary allyl alcohol with an acetal or ketal of an aliphatic aldehyde or ketone in the presence of an acid catalyst system consisting of a strong acid and a weak acid.
